‘Watch carefully before you leap’ Countless times, you’ve probably heard this phrase; that you should look very well before getting into a relationship or marriage because if you don’t, you just may end up settling with the wrong person– and you know what that means.
Well, as much as it is easy to agree with this statement because we may have developed this mindset, it’s also important to know that there isn’t one person who is perfect.
That is not to say you should settle for less than you want in your ideal man, however, do not live in a fantasy world where you think that there are people without a flaw because you’ll just end up getting disappointed.
No two persons can ever be the same. What you see in the one man, you’re unlikely to see in another. And what you do not see in your present boyfriend, you may likely see in the next. It’s possible that one man doesn’t drink or smoke or womanize, but could be serial abuser or have one nasty attitude or habit. It is also possible he isn’t a woman beater, but he is secretive or puts his career ahead of his significant other and family.
The same also applies to women – she may not be a liar or cheat, but she may probably be an alcoholic or has some dark side to her you wouldn’t know about until it’s late. But even then, embrace the reality that you face. Do not try to run away from it because if you do, you’ll probably run into worse arms or someone with similar issues.
