Over two hundred of my Facebook Friends out of no less than a thousand seven hundred celebrate their birthdays in September. I bet you, nine out of ten most common birthdays are in September, and it seems a lot more than just a coincidence.
September happens to be the month of baby-making on the Gregorian Calendar.
US journalist Matt Stiles, who combed through birth stats from the U.S. National Center for Health Statistics and the U.S. Social Security Administration collected between 1994 and 2014, also collaborates this fact. He found that, statistically, mid-September is the most popular time to give birth—than any other month.
But what could possibly be the reason why people celebrate more birthdays in and around the month of September?
Counting nine months backward takes us to December — Christmass break. That is to say that most couples make the Christmass and new year holidays the prime baby-making time. Question is, Do they do this consciously? Or is there naturally something else that triggers an uptick in pregnancy rates during this period?
Luckily for us, a recent study has put all these questions to rest. It has been found that couples have more luck conceiving in the Winter season.
Researchers noticed an interesting pattern after analyzing over 1,000.000 births to women of ages 29 years and younger. It was found that much like older women, young mothers are more likely to give birth in the summer months. This is a result of the fact that Men produce higher-quality $perm in the colder months compared to the summer (which is a lot more hotter).
In addition, the changes in daylight length create a more friendly environment in a woman’s 0vum for the egg. These two factors sum up to increase the odds of a woman taking-in. The study claims.
The fact that people are more likely to hook-up during the holiday and Festive time was also postulated as another possible reason for the December peak in conceptions.
Another study published in the National Bureau of Economic Research also found that September born kids are a lot healthier and brighter.
Not to bore you with a lengthy text: If you are hoping to increase your chances of conceiving, December is your best shot.
